When Silent Treatment first started Rance and Deanna would each contribute half of the soundtrack, carefully combining the songs together trying not to listen to it in full until the actual performance.

They then moved to relying on the fantastic efforts of friends. With no knowledge of the soundtrack whatsoever the show becomes even more spontaneous. Rance and Deanna would hear these 30 minute soundtracks for the first time on stage during the performance.

Adding to the level of spontanaety, and increasing the adaptability of the piece, The R&D Project now incorporates Jason Chin’s musical and improvisational senses by having him create the soundtrack during the show.
